New hire experience:
1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a five-year maximum
New hire education:
1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position

OVERVIEW:
To perform a variety of accounting activities including processing, recording, updating and reconciling fiscal information; to reconcile and analyze expenditures against budget; to ensure accuracy and adherence to district and state procedures.
(This is for the remainder of the 2023-2024 School Year)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School education or equivalent required with minimum two years accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Above average proficiency in typing, data entry and 10-key by touch with accuracy; excellent test battery; high math aptitude; skill in performing detailed numerical computations
- Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc); knowledge and experience with mainframe computers and financial queries (iVisions)
- Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines with an accurate attention to detail while working with frequent interruptions and minimum supervision
- Ability to perform high-volume detailed work with accuracy, to assume responsibility, to independently make sound fact-based decisions for daily tasks; to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with district personnel and outside agencies
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process all accounts receivable functions (i.e. type and mail invoices and monthly statements, collections, maintain accounts receivable database, print accounts receivable reports and file financial system documents)
- Process all travel functions to ensure adherence to district and state procedures
- Reconcile, monitor and verify all MASA and MEA travel funds to include budget transfers
- Process stale dated warrants to include researching financial system
- Approve district's telephone invoices for payment; track and collect all personal calls for district phones; process journal entries for cell phones
- Develop, create and maintain spreadsheet on land lines, mobile phones, stipend program, air time and expense on phones
- Invoice district sites for materials, supplies, services and postage
- Run monthly queries for transportation; verify coding for trips and take corrective action as needed; create journal entries to ensure accounts have budget capacity
- Prepare monthly district to county and district to banking institutions reconciliations; identify variances and take corrective action as needed
- Calculate and record interest for lost books; record, monitor and verify budget for lost books fund; approve or deny requisitions for purchases based on appropriateness of expense and budget capacity
- Answer inquiries and furnish information regarding detailed knowledge of accounts receivable, travel, payment procedures and programs
- Monitor databases for cash management (including deposits and refunds) for cash, check, money orders and credit card processing
- Reconcile daily credit card batch; verify credit card processing and take corrective action as needed
- Open, date and distribute mail
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
- Regular and on-time attendance required
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Order department supplies; process stock and on-line requisitions
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
