Accounts Receivable Specialist - Phoenix

SUMMARY

We are looking to hire an Accounts Receivable Specialist. This individual will be responsible for managing invoice collections, cash applications, and dispute resolutions.

They will verify and post customer payments, resolving discrepancies, and taking ownership of the entire process, filing, coding, totaling, batching, entering, reconciling transactions such as ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE and invoice verification, purchase orders, check invoices, requisitions, and bank statements. Other responsibilities will include the performance of related clerical duties, such as excel, spreadsheet, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying.

This role requires strong verbal and written communication skills while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. The days and hours of work are Monday through Friday; 7:00AM to 4:00PM.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.

2. Flag and report customers with big outstanding balances, repetitive bounced checks etc.

3. Filing invoices.

4. Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and from customers.

5. Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries.

6. Resolves invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures.

7. Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line, coordinating contact with A/R Supervisor.

8. Keep active communication with drivers and verify price adjustments and credits.

9. Record shorts, extras on route and verify with audit sheets.

10. Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday, 7:00AM – 4:00PM

One hour lunch, two ten-minute breaks

If you are going to be tardy and/or absent it is your responsibility to contact your immediate supervisor before your scheduled start time. If you are absent two consecutive working days a doctor’s note is required.

SALARY

Starting salary of $50K-60K / Year D.O.E.

Eligible for 40 hours of sick pay the first of the month following 30 days.

VACATION (based on years of service)

1-2 years = 40 hours

3-9 years = 80 hours

10 years and over = 120 hours
