The Accounting Specialist reports directly to the Director of Finance, Accounting, and HR. The salary range for this role is $40-60K and will be commensurate with experience. The successful candidate is eligible to participate in a generous benefits plan. See below for details.
Job Functions:
- Manage accounts payable tasks, including invoice maintenance, processing, and reconciliation.
- Handle credit card payments and ensure accurate reconciliation.
- Compile data and create spreadsheets for journal entries to maintain an up-to-date general ledger.
- Generate and distribute monthly bills, enter purchase orders and manage payment timings.
- Execute fund transfers between countries, optimize Line of Credit (LOC) usage, calculate and pay taxes
- Assist the Director with customer issues, reports, and special projects.
- Establish new customer accounts, including tax exemption setup.
- Input customer orders and issue credit memos for refunds, fees, and discounts.
- Download and prepare journal entries for key websites/marketplaces.
- Record check payments, make bank deposits, and access customer portals for EFT details.
- Manage accounts receivable, ensuring prompt customer payments.
- Reconcile QuickBooks with bank statements, matching entries accurately.
Ideal Requirements:
- 2 years of accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or bookkeeping experience
- Bachelors or Associates degree in business, accounting, or other relevant fields
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, office practices, and procedures
- Proficiency with Quickbooks Online, Google Suite, Excel/Sheets
- Thorough and accurate work habits with a strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication, and critical-thinking skills
- A positive can-do and continuous improvement attitude with a focus on achieving team goals
