Research Account Specialist

We are currently hiring for the position of Research Account Specialist in the College of Engineering.

In this role, you will manage a group of faculty research portfolios for Purdue University in Indianapolis faculty including College of Engineering, Purdue Polytechnic Institute, and Computer Science. You will be responsible for tracking research proposal processing from submission to post-award, expediting when needed, on behalf of your principal investigator, as well as promoting team communications and assisting in resolving issues. You will prepare budget and financial projections along with coordination of reporting processes, as well as maintain fiscal and administrative controls to ensure all funds are expended in accordance with university and sponsor policies and guidelines. You will serve as partner/liaison with participants, sponsors, subcontractors, and other university offices and assist with answering key operational questions on behalf of the principal investigator. Research Account Specialist positions typically work remotely but hybrid variations exist. Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field
• One year of experience in account management, financial management, or a related field
• Strong verbal/written communication skills
• Excellent planning, problem-solving, organizational, project management, and customer service skills
• Strong quantitative skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and produce quality management reports
• Ability to analyze, interpret and implement University policies and procedures
• Ability to influence and build working relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that allows for demands of reporting, implementation of new projects, etc.
• Learning orientation toward changing technology impacting business processes
