Job Description
As an Accounting Clerk at Rhode Island Restoration, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial records accurately and efficiently. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will primarily be responsible for filing, processing, and other various administrative tasks to support the finance and mitigation departments. This is a part time position working Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. This is a temporary part time to permanent full time position- if the right team member is brought on, this position allows the opportunity to move into a full-time salaried role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily filing of financial documents, ensuring proper organization and easy retrieval.
- Assist with data entry and maintaining financial records in our accounting software.
- Prepare and distribute invoices and statements as needed.
- Assist in reconciling bank statements and accounts payable/receivable transactions.
- Collaborate with other team members to provide general administrative support to the finance department.
- Respond to inquiries from team members and vendors regarding financial transactions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in an accounting role is required.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) is required.
