Job Description
The CAD Supervisor will manage and direct technical design activities in support of completing telecom engineering projects. They will supervise and manage resources daily to ensure goals are met related to detailed design drawings and timely deliverables.
They will provide strategic leadership and guidance to the design Teammates, and they are to help demonstrate and promote collaboration among Teammates, sub-contractors, and other parties in the design of any customer's projects. They will coordinate with other teams to aid in overall project completion and will communicate progress regularly on design work to both internal and external stakeholders.
Required Experience:
- Previously created engineering drawings that included permitting and construction requirements
- Strong skills in AutoCAD 2D
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing the design of overhead and underground telecommunications design is a plus
- Experience involving project priority and workforce planning in a supervisory capacity
- Ability to work with others in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
- Must be able to interact with the local municipalities, Telco engineers and construction/maintenance forces to acquire OSP Records, ICGS, Assessor Maps, map info, AIS and Construction Prints.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Recommended Experience:
Past supervision experience with teams of 4+ employees daily
Understanding or previous visibility to processes for GIS, design, right of way acquisition, and/or surveying work is a plus
Skills with base-mapping, GIS and layering, fundamental knowledge of Outside Plant, running line, conduit and cable design for copper, fiber optics, coax, manholes, hand holes, Make-Ready Engineering and poles (aerial and underground).
