PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the Stronger Connections Grant Program as an aid to the productivity of the total school program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Associates Degree or higher in Accounting or business-related field (can be substituted with 3 years' experience)
- Proficient keyboarding, word processing, and file maintenance skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with the counseling department/mental health staff
- Maintain high level of confidentiality
- Prepare, analyze, verify and correct financial documents, statements and reports
- Accurately post transactions
- Ability to audit and generate reports for department
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate with staff, coworkers, parents and vendors
- Minimum 3 years' experience in school business and/or finance
- Grant management experience preferred
- Proficient in English and Spanish preferred
- Basic knowledge of counseling programs and initiatives preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- To support the management and administration of grants related to counseling programs and initiatives.
- Work closely with the counseling department staff to ensure compliance with grant guidelines.
- Maintain accurate grant records, and assist in the preparation of grant proposals.
- Review grant applications, verifying eligibility criteria, and assisting with the submission of grant proposals.
- Be responsible for tracking grant expenditures, monitoring budget allocations, and preparing financial reports for grant funding.
- Assist in grant reporting and evaluation, ensuring that all required documentation is submitted in a timely manner.
- Perform general office work and operate office machines with a high degree of efficiency.
- Assist with preparation and administration of the annual budget.
- Assist in compiling all data to prepare the annual budget, input budgets and balance all funds.
- Assist in monitoring budgets, preparing budget projections and analyzing budget to actual variances.
- Monitoring the next year's budget for account code accuracy.
- Reviews and prepares reports required by state, local and federal agencies.
- Preparation of purchase orders, payroll and travel.
- Attend and take notes during all required meetings and share with involved personnel.
- Records and reconciles Stronger Connections programs payments monthly.
- Assists in the preparation of schedules required by the district's independent auditors.
- Prepare monthly activity fund statements for campuses and departments.
- Responds to inquiries from grant director and coordinator.
- Demonstrate loyalty within a team approach to district initiatives and maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.
- Adheres to the district policy on punctuality and attendance.
- Able to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others as requested.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer, printer, copier, fax machine, shredder, scanner, and peripherals; standard instructional equipment. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures and data; ability to maintain objectivity.
Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: Occasional district and out-of-district travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours
