Job Description
Youth Orchestra Program Coordinator(PT hourly - 15-20 hrs/wk): As a valued member of the Lyceum Youth Orchestras Program at American Heritage School, the Youth Orchestra Program Coordinator will coordinate with ensemble directors, American Heritage School staff, and parent volunteers to execute onsite the logistics of Lyceum Youth Orchestra auditions, rehearsals, performances, sectionals and other related events as assigned. Program Coordinator will provide overall operational support including training and managing parent volunteers in regard to rehearsal/concert set-up, tear-down, sheet music library and creation, ushering, roll-taking, and parent-provided meals. Coordinator assists ensemble directors, supervises student musicians, and oversees hired sectional personnel. Coordinator acts as a liaison on behalf of ensemble directors in communicating with students and parents and must maintain a high level of professionalism, consistency, and communication at all times. Coordinator organizes Program files and supplies and may be required to setup or transport equipment. Flexible hours include daytime office hours on-campus as well as Wednesday afternoons and some weekends. Well-qualified candidates will have a background knowledge in spreadsheets and music education. Ensemble management experience preferred. Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. Candidates should have a desire to work in a faith-based atmosphere aligned with the values taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, be professional in appearance and demeanor, and willing and able to uphold the AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement on and off-campus.
