The Novelis North America (NNA) team is seeking a Workforce Development Manager. This role is responsible for providing Workforce Development strategy to ensure the Novelis North America plant locations have a trained and ready workforce. This role reports to the Director Auto Operation, HR.
Responsibilities & QualificationsResponsibilities
- Leverage workforce analytics, demographics, and internal data analysis to deeply understand the business and identify skill gaps to meet future talent pipeline needs; Identify and implement programs to close these gaps.
- Deliver on the Bay Minette model for Workforce Development with a state localization strategy
- Develops a value proposition and respective implementation plan for each development initiative
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with external partners and networks in the Workforce Development field, non-profits, governmental organizations, educational institutions, relevant national agencies and others to establish key partnerships
- Build partnerships with other organizations to create integrated programs that can benefit multiple local employers in meeting their long-term talent needs
- Assist in crafting training or work-based learning programs to include apprenticeships, internships, job shadowing, mentoring relationships, and on the job training
- Work with Talent Management and Learning to identify the proficiencies, skills, and experiences that employees must gain to progress in their careers.
- Establishes and maintains learning programs and apprenticeships opportunities to re-skill and upskill internal employees based on the career pathways designed.
- Convene with industry partners and develop ongoing structure to successfully understand, promote, and advocate for strategic workforce solutions.
- Works with Talent Acquisition and Communications to identify and develop a workforce communications strategy
- Ensure on-site implementation of Workforce Development corporate initiatives and programs
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 5 years of relevant Workforce Development experience in Manufacturing
- Demonstrable experience in leading and handling Workforce Development program contracts (ie., government funded programs)
- Previous experience with a greenfield, brownfield sites or new acquisition integration preferred
- Bachelors in industrial psychology
- Experience on Organizational Effectiveness
- Experience leading projects

This role's salary starts from $112,600.00 per year. Individual pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and performance. In addition to base salary, this position includes participation in a short-term incentive plan (Plant Performance incentive - PPI).
