Join our team as a PDC Community Coach, dedicated to supporting Early Childhood, family child care, and out-of-school time programs across Western MA within the EEC mixed-delivery system. Reporting to the Western PDC Lead Coach, your role is pivotal in delivering coaching, consultation, and technical support. Collaborating closely with the Western PDC team, including leadership and fellow coaches, your responsibilities encompass assessing program needs and guiding individual educators toward improvement plans through the PDC Leadership Coaching Model. Your commitment extends to working flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and occasional holidays, to ensure the success of grant-related activities aimed at enhancing program quality and achieving our goals for educational excellence.

  1. Provide coaching, consultation, and technical assistance using the tools associated with the Leadership Coaching Model in a variety of settings including; on-site, virtual, email, and phone as appropriate;
  2. Provide Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) in compliance with the needs identified by the Western PDC in person and virtual as appropriate;
  3. Adapting coaching practices and strategies to meet leaders' and educator's individual needs, learning styles, culture, and language and create a culture of continuous learning;
  4. Ensure that all coaching services are provided in compliance with contractual grant requirements;
  5. Participate in all required coaching-related Professional Development training identified by the PDC, the Academy, and EEC;
  6. Maintain a consistent schedule with assigned programs in caseload and respond to program leaders' inquiries in a timely manner between scheduled visits;
  7. Thoroughly complete all necessary documents or forms required by the PDC, Academy, and EEC in a timely manner and maintain active user status on all required technology platforms;
  8. Implement to fidelity the coaching procedures and practices indicated in the Leadership Coaching Guide and as required by the PDC, Academy, and EEC, including a cycle of program assessment, goal setting, objective observation, implementation, feedback, and reflection;
  9. Create, and maintain clear and positive communication channels with the Western PDC team, the Academy, and EEC staff including contract monitor, licensors, Program Quality Specialists, and statewide partners to ensure high-quality service delivery;
  10. Attend Statewide PDC meetings, regular coaching affinity group meetings run by the Statewide Coaching Manager, and other required meetings for coaches convened by PDC, the Academy, or EEC;
  11. Adhering to the legal and ethical requirements of a coach by clearly communicating responsibilities and boundaries, promoting best practices, and continually adjusting strategies to be culturally responsive to leaders, educators, and providers' needs;
  12. Demonstrate knowledge of anti-bias environments, curriculum, and practices and create technical assistance opportunities for educators and administrators to meet those goals;
  13. Facilitate and participate in community stakeholder meetings;
  14. Travel to program sites throughout Western MA;
  15. Participate in college-wide meetings and events as appropriate;
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood education or related field;
  • Three (3) years of experience working in the EEC-licensed early care and education programs FCC, GCC, OST, and public school programs;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (i.e., effective working relationships with all stakeholders);
  • Ability to interact with sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse abilities and academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, and cultural composition of community college students, faculty, and staff;
  • Ability to write clearly and compose concise, coherent reports;
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Zoom;
  • Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.
PREFERRED:
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Early Childhood education or a related field;
  • Two (2) years of leadership and supervision experience in the EEC mixed-delivery system;
  • Experience with the Pyramid Model and MA Quality Improvement system;
  • Familiarity with various assessment tools such as: CLASS, Environmental Rating Scales;
  • Experience providing coaching within the EEC system;
  • Understanding of PDC services, EEC licensing requirements, and other EEC initiatives that include Professional Development for the early education and out-of-school time workforce;
  • Experience with the facilitation of Early ChildhoodProfessional Development trainings;
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Full-time, Non-Unit Professional position
Salary Range: $64,737.65 - $70,000/year, plus a comprehensive State benefits package
Hours: 37.5 hrs./week
Funding Source: Grant
