Responsibilities:
- Directly oversee the Assisted Living/Personal Care staff
- When allowed by State regulation, delegates medication administration to Certified
Medication Aides/Techs which includes medication administration training, auditing,
compliance, continual communication, and all documentation required associated with
above.
- Keeps Executive Director informed of all situations and changes that involve day to day
operations.
- Appropriately interacts with residents, responsible parties, family, friends, physicians,
other related health care and non-health care professionals, visitors, vendors, and Local,
State and Federal regulatory agencies in a professional and courteous manner.
- 24 hour responsibility for completing or assisting staff with admissions, transfers and
emergencies within the continuum of care.
- Performs evaluations on residents as per guidelines and state regulations.
- Documents all significant reported/observed medically related events or incidents within
the resident’s medical record as outlined by all Local, State and Federal regulatory
agencies.
- Relays pertinent information to all appropriate staff, physicians, responsible parties,
licensing agencies as well as any other lawful authority via written and/or verbal
communication as indicated by scope of event or incident as it relays to ensuring the
safety and well-being if each resident.
- Contributes to resident and customer satisfaction goals by providing quality care and
service.
- Communicates service agreement changes with the resident’s responsible party.
- Assists with the completion of the resident’s service plan and required assessments as
per state specific requirements.
- Assists with completion of residents’ activities of daily living, medication administration,
health related and psychosocial needs, serves as a health educator per resident need
and/or request.

- Works with the Executive Director to ensure appropriate numbers of staff are available
for each shift in the event of a call-in or “no show”.
- Maintains staffing according to budget and ensures documentation of individualized staff
issues is completed and takes disciplinary action as needed.
- Follows all universal precautions; practice safe and proper handling and disposal of all
infected materials, equipment, and lines, follows established fire procedures and ensures
staff compliance.
- Alerts the Maintenance Director of any safety issues within the building.
- Maintains a safe and hazard free environment and reports any such violation to
Administrator/designee.
- Completes all weekly or monthly reports as directed.
- Adheres to all Maquis Health Consulting Assisted Living policies and procedures.
- Attends all mandatory in-services. Completes mandatory continuing education hours to
ensure uninterrupted licensure and certifications needed for job qualifications.
- Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training.
- Adheres to the Organization’s Policies and Procedures regarding the Compliance
Program of the organization and is timely in reporting any possible concerns.
- Follows all local, state and federal regulations as they pertain to the position.
- Adheres to the Organization’s Policies and Procedures covering Privacy and Security in
Compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Other duties as assigned by my supervisor, necessary for the efficient operation of the department/facility.
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Certified Medicine Tech or Licensed Nurse
- CPR certification preferred.
- Active listening and visual skills; Excellent verbal and written communication; Time
management
- 2 years’ experience in a lead role in an ALF/Personal Care facility preferred
