POSITION SUMMARY: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, the position of Program Coordinator is grant-funded to manage wellness and mental health services provision to high school students as part of the Occupational Therapy Program of Wellness and Resilience (OT-POWER). The Program Coordinator will provide direct services to high school students and supervise fieldwork, capstone, and intern students on-site. They will also coordinate with school personnel and other community agencies and collaborate with supervisors to engage in program improvement initiatives. The position runs from February 1st, 2024, through June 15, 2024 and resumes August 19, 2024, through December 20, 2024. This position includes flexible scheduling between 7:30am-2:30pm, M-F.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May occasionally require adjusted work schedules.
- Implement and follow Bethlehem Area School district, Moravian University, and OT-POWER policies
- Direct Service Provision:
- Deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy services to high school students as outlined in the Occupational Therapy Program of Wellness and Resilience (OT-POWER).
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement interventions to enhance students' mental health and overall well-being.
- De-escalate students in crisis and follow safety protocols
- Communicate with student's parents pertaining to concerns or progress, as appropriate
- Supervision and Mentorship:
- Supervise fieldwork, capstone, and intern students on-site, providing guidance and mentorship in alignment with program objectives.
- Foster a supportive and educational environment for student practitioners, ensuring adherence to AOTA and ACOTE professional standards and ethical practices.
- Complete student performance evaluations for students completing fieldwork, capstone, and internship experiences.
- Provide regular student feedback on performance for students completing fieldwork, capstone, and internship experiences.
- Review and provide feedback on student documentation for students completing fieldwork, capstone, and internship experiences.
- Model and implement best-practices
- Document student supervision sessions
- Support students in setting professional goals and objectives for performance improvement.
- Program Coordination:
- Coordinate and facilitate wellness and mental health services within the high school setting.
- Collaborate with school personnel to integrate Occupational Therapy services seamlessly into the broader educational context.
- Community Collaboration:
- Establish and maintain effective communication with other community agencies to enhance comprehensive mental health services delivery.
- Program Improvement Initiatives:
- Work closely with supervisors to identify areas for program improvement.
- Participate in developing and implementing initiatives to enhance the OT-POWER's effectiveness.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Communicate regularly with program supervisors to provide updates on program activities, challenges, and successes.
- Extensive verbal and written communication skills to facilitate effective communication and working relationships
- Maintain professional records
- Demonstrate mature, empathetic, and effective professional relationships by exhibiting compassion, integrity, and concern for others.
- Travel and Schedule Management:
- Travel between two high schools, as needed, to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Manage a flexible schedule between 7:30 am and 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, to accommodate student and program needs.
- Timeframe Management:
- Navigate the specific timeframe of the position, running from February through June 15 and resuming August 19 through December 20, 2024.
- Ensure smooth transitions between program phases and maintain continuity in service delivery.
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in Occupational Therapy and mental health.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Pennsylvania licensed occupational therapist
- Minimum of one year experience required (three years of experience preferred)
- Psychosocial/mental health or community-based experience preferred
- Possesses valid driver's license
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must provide feedback to students on performance
