Physical Demands:
- Must Pass Company required screening tests.
- Must be able to pass respirator health and fit testing.
- Must be in reasonably fit condition to climb tank ladders and ladders to lower level sump area in waste treatment areas.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Must be able to push or pull heavy loads (up to 750 lbs) with basic material handling equipment
Job Purpose Summary:
- The Wastewater Technician is a direct labor position within the Wastewater/Lab Team whose responsibilities are treatment of waste from processes, chemical analysis of tank compositions, filtration and changing chemical or solution in the chemical tanks and neutralizing solids from the chemical tanks and known practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee is responsible to treat waste from processes and chemical waste, chemical analysis of tank compositions, filtration and changing chemicals or solutions in the chemical tanks, neutralizing solids from the chemical tanks, maintaining the chemical tanks and the waste treatment area.
- Understand and follow standard operating procedures (SOP) as assigned to the team to assure your job duties are performed in a consistent, reliable and timely manner.
- Ability to multitask and communicate to management in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of assigned areas.
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor/Plant Manager.
Qualifications:
- Willing and able to work non-production hours as necessary.
- Basic addition, subtraction, and multiplication skills in order to process inventory, counting, time allocation, and work hours.
- Ability to read and comprehend internal documents such as work order travelers, inventory records, logs and general company records.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Must be able to multi task and work under stress
- Basic computer skills.
- Must complete 24hour Health and Safety Training for Treatment Storage and Disposal Facility Worker.
- Must have prior experience a minimum of 1 year.
Safety:
- Employee has been (will be) trained and is to meet and assure that all safety requirements of Pentagon Technologies are followed while performing assigned duties within the plant. A good understanding and consistent use of appropriate PPE, basic maintenance safety regulations such as lock out/tag out policies, removing or repairing inadequate or potentially unsafe equipment, and to recognize unsafe practices that may be occurring within the plant environment and reporting same to operational staff are required.
Work Environment:
- Must be able to function well in an office environment. Must be able to perform in noisy, moist, or wet environments with standard protection devices. Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding to perform essential tasks. Must be able to handle necessary tools to perform tasks, including a variety of meters, sensors, fluid and or air/gas monitors, and heavy equipment that will need to be towed or moved through the production environment with little assistance.
