Aleknagik Technology, LLC is seeking a VTC Engineer / IT Help Desk Support Technician who will support the Information Management Division of William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC). The successful applicant will work as a team to provide a full range of IT services necessary to deliver VTC and IT Help Desk support and services.
Responsibilities
- Provide services related to designing, delivering, and maintaining solutions for both secure and non-secure video systems which include VTC and desktop Local Area Network (LAN) VTC systems and web-based collaboration tools. These video systems may include, but not limited to cameras, recorders, multipoint bridges, Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), and dial up systems, amplifiers, microphones, compression equipment, equalizers, remote controls, special optical enhanced equipment, and video interface equipment. Video distribution may be over fiber optics, coaxial cable, or twisted pair copper cable.
- Serve as the Primary IT Help Desk Support Technician to the Command Suite for any IT related issues. Work in conjunction with the Help Desk in the event an issue is beyond this scope.
- Configure video service to be delivered via ISDN, IP, SIP, or other digital transmission service, support multi-point bridging, and enable routing of video calls to off-net locations over the WBAMC network to WBAMC location nearest the destination point.
- Plan, implement, and manage VTC and video projects and services. Provide VTC services including scheduling conferences and rooms, configuring internal and external bridging, and operating equipment during VTC sessions. Operations are limited to startup of initial conference, support for technical issues occurring during in- progress calls, and termination of call. It does not include a VTC operator.
- Plan, implement and report on VTC and video service projects. Video projects include project and implementation plans; documentation; risk assessment evaluations; and system configurations, including wiring, coaxial, cost estimates, installation timeline, and down time of systems. - Operate, maintain, configure, and test VTC, and other video services operating in unclassified modes. Transport, set up, operate, breakdown, and re-transport portable VTC equipment. Maintain the required system certifications for connecting to external networks.
- Install, move, add, and change teleconferencing equipment. Upgrade VTC equipment software, hardware, and firmware; perform preventative maintenance; troubleshoot; replace failed hardware components; and modify the configuration of teleconferencing equipment.
- Maintain an awareness of new VTC technologies and provide recommendations and guidance to the COR for improved VTC services. Develop standard procedures for operation of the VTC facility and network, and for coordination among participating sites. (CDRL A016 - VTC SOP).
- Provide maintenance and service to hospital VTC system to include all components of system. (Crestron components and plasma video screens) to include full operation and replacing equipment as needed. Contractor will also assist in maintaining IP TV system components as needed to include replacing and troubleshooting, de-install and re-install nonfunctional TV's and will provide remediation in a timely manner.

- Must consent to and be able to pass a Government background investigation (includes finger-printing)
- Certifications REQUIRED: at a minimum, CompTIA Security+ AND CompTIA A+
