Job Description
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President of Operations oversees departments and functions crucial to the day-to-day operation of the organization and its programs. The Vice President of Operations acts as liaison between executive leadership and the Facilities/Maintenance, Transportation, Production and SAGE departments, and serves as administrative point of contact for insurance and some legal issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. As supervisor of the Director of Facilities, provides direction and oversight for the maintenance and custodial functions to ensure that agency facilities are supporting the agency’s mission and vision.
2. As supervisor of the Transportation Fleet Manager, provides direction and oversight for the transportation function to ensure that the organization’s programs are providing the best possible transportation services for people receiving supports from sasi.
3. As supervisor of the Director of Production, provides direction and oversight for the production department to ensure that production capacity is adequate to meet contract needs.
4. As supervisor of the SAGE Manager, provides direction and oversight for the SAGE division to ensure it is meeting the needs of its customers and employees in a fiscally responsible manner.
5. Acts as primary contact with the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and other governmental entities regarding letters of intent, certificates of need, and prior property approvals related to site use changes. Liaises with OPWDD’s Division of Quality Improvement on approvals and surveys related to site use changes. Coordinates all such activity with appropriate program and business office staff.
6. Sits on the agency leadership team, participates in leadership meetings and provides any other leadership-related service required by the President/Chief Executive Officer and/or the Chief Financial Officer.
Education and Experience: While a bachelor’s degree is preferred, the preference may be waived given significant experience in operations-related roles. Management or leadership experience in the human services sector, particularly intellectual and developmental disabilities, is strongly preferred.
