Compensation Range : 200-250k base + 20% bonus + Stock
As anoperator of premier financial marketplaces, we are currently seeking a seasoned technology manager to join our IT Infrastructure team in a capacity of a Systems Engineering Manager. The IT team designs, develops and maintains a number of highly-available, low-latency quoting and trading systems, using cutting-edge computing software and hardware.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise a team of Linux Engineers managing the operations and architecture of servers, Linux operating system, AWS, storage, and backup infrastructure servers and services. Support production, non-production, and cloud environments.
- Linux server and OS standards, architecture, and hardening; datacenter architecture.
- Puppet configuration management, architecture, and development.
- Architect infrastructure services and protocols such as DNS, SMTP, SNMP, NTP, and syslog.
- Perform change management review, technical and security approval, ticket management
- Perform Tier 2/3 level troubleshooting as appropriate. Network troubleshooting and tuning; low latency troubleshooting and tuning.
- Make recommendations to improve and support business activities.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to select appropriate solutions.
- Work closely with the Security Team on implementation of security initiatives, audits, and risk remediation.
- Hiring, mentoring, and coaching. Grow the team's knowledge and expertise. Determine team level goals, delegate projects and review status.
- Budgeting and purchasing of hardware, software, infrastructure, cloud tools and solutions.
- Develop and maintain system documentation.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors.
- Act as an escalation point for team 24x7 on-call rotation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Server and Red Hat Linux architecture. Expertise with RHEL operating systems, performance troubleshooting, hardening, tuning, root cause analysis and incident handling.
- Puppet configuration management architecture and development expertise.
- Strong proficiency with Bash and Python scripting for automation.
- Experience leading a team, mentoring new hires, and delegating projects.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts: routing, switching, VLAN, security, IP/TCP/UDP
- Experience with information security compliance audits and frameworks such as COBIT, NIST, ISO27001, CIS, or CSF.
- Experience with configuration management, code repository tools, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with security theory, tools, and procedures.Working knowledge of monitoring tools and protocols: Nagios, Zenoss, PagerDuty.
- Experience with deploying and supporting server infrastructure in a datacenter colocation environment.
- Experience with VMware ESXi administration and architecture.
- Experience with project management.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
