Acara Solutions has been providing aerospace/defense and advanced manufacturing firms with our staffing services for over 60 years. Our Long Island, NY international electronics client is looking for a Sr. Systems Engineer with expertise in radar to join their organization as a direct salaried employee onsite in Farmingdale. The base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $170,500 with some flexibility.
This is an 100% onsite position due to security reasons.
TheSenior Systems Engineer will have preferred experience in Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) / Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) to support a development team of various engineering disciplines in the definition, design and test of complex IFF systems. This position is responsible for the entire systems life cycle design and meeting the technical requirements of the project.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Support/coordinate the development of Overall System Architecture
-System Requirements decomposition and allocation to the individual engineering disciplines
-Performance and Tracking Analysis using tools such as Matlab or Statistica
-System Design and Interface Documentation development
-Lead/support staff design reviews insuring that disciplines comply with system requirements
-Generation of Test and Integration methodology and documentation
-Customer Interface and Interaction through Technical Interchange Meetings, Design Reviews, Training Sessions and Verification events.
-Laboratory testing using advanced test and measuring equipment including Department of Defense (DoD) AIMS Certification Testing
-Post Delivery Field Testing/Support including analysis of Targets of Opportunity
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar technical/scientific degree
Min 10 years of Systems Engineering experience that includes the following:
- Must have experience in generation of systems requirements, design documentation, interface documentation and management of requirements
- Must have experience in Systems Integration, Traceability and Test
- Familiarity with Mark XIIA IFF Systems, ADS-B Systems and/or general Military and Civilian Air Traffic Control (ATC) Systems
- Functional knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF), Radar, ATC, or SSR/IFF system elements (i.e. antennas, receivers, transmitters, and processors) is preferred
- Functional knowledge of Radar system elements (i.e. antennas, receivers, transmitters, and processors)
- Familiarization with IFF Interrogator and Transponder Systems including Test Equipment (AN/USM-719, 45-TS, or equivalent)
- Experience with some or all of the following spectrum related organizations including DoD AIMS, FAA, STANAG, FCC, NTIA, ICAO, and EuroControl
Min 2 years of experience with Systems Engineering tools such as DOORS and Matlab and common test lab equipment
ITAR facility with military clients - ability to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance is required
Preferred:
Experience in radar principles, signal processing, real-time software or data analysis is desired
Preferred experience with deploying avionics systems into military installations (Aircraft, Shipboard, Ground Stable and/or Ground Mobile Systems)
Preferred experience with proposal development, Basis Of Estimate (BOE) development, Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development or equivalent
