Remote work considered:
Based on multiple factors, remote work may be a possibility for this position, at the discretion of the business. Candidate must be local to the Endicott NY area. Because this role involves a combination of independent and collaborative work, this position can be conducted 100% remotely.
Work within team of procurement professionals to action material requisitions per MRP planning recommendations for assigned commodities.
  • Using sources approved by engineering to meet the required specification, the analyst issues Requests for Quotations (RFQ's), and follows through with negotiating pricing and delivery terms and crafting purchase orders while ensuring compliance to all company procurement procedures.
  • Negotiate purchase requirements with suppliers to meet target pricing and/or ensure best value procurements for BAE
  • Actively work with suppliers to resolve schedule conflicts, and follows through with material planners to ensure understanding of delivery commitments.
  • Work with Commodity Managers to contribute to strategic initiatives and participate in process improvement projects
  • Resolve delivery and accounts payable issues in a timely manner
  • Continually monitors suppliers within assigned commodity areas to achieve quality and delivery objectives
  • Executes all purchases in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs & DFARs) and company policies
  • Utilize experience to coach and mentor newer team members
This candidate will use their strong communication skills to build mutually beneficial relationships with the supply base as well as our internal customers. It is expected that the analyst will maintain their order backlog on a regular basis to ensure supplier promises meet the need dates as shown in MRP and work with material planning group to mitigate schedule risks and escalate as appropriate. In addition to creating purchase orders, the analysts are a key part of our commodity based and metric focused strategy working on commodity teams with strategic leaders and colleagues from Supplier Quality and other functions.

Required Skills and Education
  • Typically, a bachelor's degree and 4 years of related work experience, or at least 6 years of equivalent experience in procurement.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Stong organization skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Inclination towards proactive continuous process improvement.

Preferred Skills and Education
  • Knowledge of FAR and DFAR regulations
  • Previous experience in the procurement of electronic and/or custom mechanical materials
  • Professional Supply Chain certifications such as CPIM, or PMP
  • Familiarity with Oracle ERP
