The Department of Physics at Purdue University Fort Wayne invites applications for an exciting Visiting Assistant Professor position in Physics starting Fall 2024. The requirements are a Ph.D. in Physics or closely related areas (including Ph.D. to be awarded). This position will consist of teaching 3-4 courses per semester. These assignments will run the range of undergraduate physics courses as well as support classes for other majors. These can cover the core physics curriculum or classes of faculty specialties ranging from sound and music to stars and galaxies. The candidate will receive mentoring and constructive feedback from seasoned faculty to support professional growth.
The Physics Department offers B.S. degrees in Physics (with six concentrations: Astronomy/AstroPhysics, Biomedical, Computational, Engineering, Materials Science, and Optoelectronics and Photonics). We have approximately 80 undergraduate physics majors. We have a commitment to excellence in undergraduate education with heavy involvement of students in research.
