SalaryWell-established orthodontic practice located in Lexington seeks a full or part-time Orthodontic Assistant to join our exceptional team. Our practice is committed to providing the best possible orthodontic care with first-class service to our patients.
Job Description:
- Greeting patients warmly and professionally
- Setting up for clinical procedures
- Cleaning the operatory and working area, sterilizing the instruments in accordance with OSHA
- Taking intra-oral and facial photos, Panoramic and Cephalometric X-ray images, editing and uploading patients photographs
- Taking impressions of dental arches and pouring the models
- Scanning for Invisalign and bonding Invisalign attachments
- Preparing the teeth for placing brackets
- Fitting bands on teeth
- Assisting with cementing bands, and other devices
- Removing, and replacing arch wires, placing power chains, O rings, elastic threads, etc. following the doctor's instructions.
- Assisting the doctor to remove braces.
- Giving patients instructions about brushing, flossing, and maintaining good oral hygiene.
- Giving patients instructions on wearing elastics, headgears, face masks, etc. following the doctor's instructions.
- Making Essix retainers, inserting retainers, and giving patients instructions about wear.
- Taking care of minor emergencies
- Organizing, and stocking the operatories.
- Helping with inventory and ordering.
- Sending and receiving lab cases promptly
The ideal candidate should have:
- COA/CDA with at least 3 years of orthodontic assisting experience
- Excellent clinical skills and computer skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
