Virtual Chief Information Officer (Vcio)

A Virtual Chief Information Officer’s (vCIO) reports to the Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) and is responsible for leveraging their expertise in applying information technology to help mid-size companies to meet and exceed their business objectives. The ideal profile for this position is someone who has deep understanding of current information technologies, business expertise in an industry vertical and a proven track record of advising and or leading business transformation.

Key Responsibilities/ Duties:

• Acquire and manage a portfolio of industry-specific organizations as their trusted technology advisor.
• Work closely with sales organization to identify existing customers or new prospects that would benefit from having a seasoned technology executive advise their business leaders and develop a strategy to adopt and implement information technologies and services.
• Develop an industry-specific framework that will be used as a guide and roadmap on the most effective use of technology to achieve business objectives.
• Identify best practices across portfolio and proactively provide new ideas to portfolio business leaders.
• Develop and propose AI-enabled solutions that can enhance customer service, improve operational efficiency, and create new growth opportunities.
• Identify and conduct vertical-based prototypes of new solutions for early adopters.
• Guide customers to offload non-core IT operational responsibilities leveraging Meriplex’s operating model.
• Oversee the creation of new solution proposals leveraging Meriplex sales team, solutions architects and professional services.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and position Meriplex as a trusted intelligent solutions provider.
• Establish, monitor and maintain a minimum gross margin for billed advisory services.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Ability to maintain professional training schedules to ensure that employees have correct skillset to manage workload.
• Ability to drive accountability through department.
• Ability to communicate with all ranks of employees.
• High level of professionalism and ability to communicate effectively with client leadership.

Education & Experience:

• 15+ years of experience in IT consulting or prior experience as CIO in specific industry vertical.
• Strong business acumen with ability to communicate business benefits of technology investments.
• Strong foundation in financial management with the ability to translate technology investments into financial terms.
• Proven track record of maintaining C-level relationships as a trusted advisor.

Physical Demands:

Sedentary Work – Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

Current Pay Range: $135,000-$180,000 Annually
