Brief Job Overview
This is a key leadership role within the Documentary Standards and Compendial Policy Department that oversees a set of cross-functional and complex functions related to Healthcare Quality and safety. The Vice President/Sr. Director of Healthcare, Quality & Safety Center of Excellence (COE) will be responsible for leading the strategy, planning and execution for standards and solutions for Healthcare, Quality and Safety Department to deliver overall global public health impact and sustainability. This includes coordinating those efforts across all four Healthcare Safety & Quality Expert Committee (EC) including Healthcare Information & Technology EC, the Nomenclature & Labeling EC, HQS Expert Committee, and the Compounding EC. The incumbent will facilitate critical evaluation of healthcare environment and drive thought leadership needed to establish standards as well as explore future emerging trends such as clinical informatics, digital therapeutics, personalized medicine, healthcare diagnostics, and pharmacogenomics. This role is responsible for the growth and development of new tools and solutions that will require advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and capability building efforts. This position requires strong healthcare expertise, regulatory knowledge, strategic thinking and analysis, business acumen, communication, and leadership skills to coordinate and facilitate the development of programs, standards and solutions related to the above. This is a professional supervisory position and the incumbent in this role will supervise the scientists and program managers as assigned including defining role and responsibilities, individual development plans, coaching, training and in delivering results according to Organization's Priorities, SSPs and performance goals and metrics. The Vice-President/Senior Director also serves on the Global Leadership Team, the GSSD Extended Leadership Team and the Documentary Standards and Compendial Policy Leadership Team.
How will YOU create impact here at USP?
• Lead and Manages the Healthcare Quality and Safety (HQS) Center of Excellence. Provides leadership on standards transformation and solutions. Takes a leadership role in fostering a quality, collaborative, and transformational mindset, and culture. Oversee scientists and program managers in preparing work plan activities, materials, presentations, resources, and other deliverables.
• Leads development of Strategic and Plans for HQS COE. Facilitate key program planning and project completion against goals, objectives, and success metrics to gauge success of programs in terms of public health impact.
• Develop engagement strategies to engage current and new stakeholders around solutions.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional groups within USP including GSSD, DSCP, RPO, GEA, Federal Practice, and USP education). Lead and facilitate Expert Committee, Subcommittees and Expert Panels work plans to ensure future pipeline for the development and standards and solutions for HQS.
• Leverage the Federal Practice team to identify opportunities around healthcare, safety, and information aligned with USP's priorities.
• Drive awareness, adoption, and usage of HQS standards, products, education course materials and solutions through communications and related support materials.

Senior Director:
• Degree in pharmacy, science, healthcare, regulatory or relevant field with no less than 12 years of relevant experience working in the pharmaceutical, healthcare or consumer products industry.
• Minimum of 5 years of previous people leadership leading, supervising, and mentoring staff.
• Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action.
Vice President:
• Degree in pharmacy, science, healthcare, regulatory or relevant field with no less than 15 years of relevant experience working in the pharmaceutical, healthcare or consumer products industry.
• Minimum of 7 years of previous people leadership leading, supervising, and mentoring staff.
• Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action.
