Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the VP of People Operations & Experience will lead the evolution of Empower Pharmacy's People Operations function & team. The VP of People Operations will be responsible for building and leading a team who will be accountable for the delivery of HR services including people analytics and reporting, compensation and benefits, HR operations, technology, and continuous improvement across the HR organization. The VP or People Operations & Experience will focus on reducing complexity, enabling scalability, and increasing operational efficiency, effectiveness, and the overall experience for employees who interact with the HR function. The VP of People Operations & Experience is responsible for delivering all HR transactional processes including the following: absence, leaves of absence, workers compensation; benefits planning & administration; employee data management; employee reporting & compliance; immigration; time & attendance; talent acquisition; new hire orientation; onboarding; employee experience; employee relations; and exit management.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops and manages a People Operations infrastructure including systems, processes, policies, and programs including employee relations, mobility, compliance, and HRIS administration.
  • Provide operational leadership for implementing and administering HR transactional processes.
  • Establish priorities, framework, and governance for all HR service delivery.
  • Enable long-term operational excellence though administration of processes within scope and accountability.
  • Standardize and improve service delivery mechanisms, processes, and systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement process improvements, technology, and training requirements.
  • Drive adoption of HR systems with a focus on Tier 0 (Employee/Manager Self Service), Tier 1 & 2 inquiries.
  • Automate transactional processes and policies and ensure they meet regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Deliver an exceptional employee experience for all employees by advocating and modeling superior customer service.
  • Continuously drive improvements and innovation as it relates to improving processes, performance, action plans, and training and development of employees to improve our employee experience and enable rapid scaling.
  • Oversee and manage HR compliance function including leading HR audits, documentation, and testing of key controls, and ensuring internal policies and processes support compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Talent Acquisition, VP of Talent Management, and VP of People Partnering to ensure all HR policies, processes, and procedures are strategically aligned, updated, accessible, and ensure operational efficiency, effectiveness, and an optimal employee experience.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to establish short and long-term objectives and financial strategies for total rewards programs.
  • Provide guidelines and requirements for implementing, administering, and communicating total rewards programs including health, wellness, retirement, incentives, base pay, variable pay, sales commission, merit increases, etc.
  • Provide strategy leadership in the development of benefit and compensation programs that meet enterprise-wide financial requirements and enable talent management objectives.
  • Organize, plan, and manage HR activities and total reward activities related to mergers and acquisitions.
  • Lead the total rewards market analysis and planning for the enterprise.
  • Address market competitiveness and cost-effectiveness to ensure programs support talent and business objectives.
  • Establish total reward supplier relationships and performance standards.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of leading practices and trends to inform total rewards strategy and activities.
  • Optimize HRIS to meet workforce and compliance requirements and create opportunities for automation, reporting, and reduction of manual processes.
  • Provide leadership for people experience managers in the delivery of onboarding, supervisor/manager/director coaching and development, employee relations, employee experience, and exit management support.
  • Provide employee relations support to leadership, and staff, counseling employees on work-related issues while interpreting and applying organizational polices.
  • Ensure transparent and consistent communication with employees and leadership throughout the lifecycle of employment to build trust and promote an inclusive and supportive work culture.
  • Responsible for providing effective performance feedback for direct reports by establishing clear goals and expectations, including adherence to standards; hold direct reports accountable for results.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and coaching to direct reports.
  • Creates and promotes a culture of teamwork and cooperation within the team and throughout the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or similar field (Psychology, Organizational Development) from an accredited four-year college is required.
  • Master's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or similar field (I/O Psychology, Organizational Development) is preferred.
  • 15+ years of HR experience in HR operations.
  • 5+ years of experience leading an HR function.
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with Applicant Tracking and Human Resources Information Systems preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel, and experience using HR databases, preferably iCIMS and ADP.
