What You'll Do

Duties and responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the multifamily housing sector.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand current market share in target locations and expand our client base.
  • Lead the negotiation of Business contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to set sales targets and develop action plans to achieve them.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively address any issues or concerns to maintain high levels of client retention.
  • Actively engage with clients to understand their goals and objectives and align the company's services to meet their needs.

Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing business development and client services team.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear goals and performance metrics for the team, and regularly assess performance against targets.

Market Analysis and Strategy

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market performance and competitive landscape.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
  • Develop and refine business development strategies based on market insights and opportunities.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including operations, marketing, finance, and legal, to support business development initiatives and ensure seamless execution of new management assignments
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to provide regular updates on business development activities, client relationships, and market trends.

Qualifications

The following qualifications must be met before consideration of the position of Vice President of Business Development/Client Services:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Must have sales and presentations skills including networking.
  • Knowledge of multifamily operations.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in business development, client services, or related roles within the multifamily housing industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully identifying and closing new business opportunities, preferably in the real estate or construction sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Relationship management.
  • Leadership, management, and mentoring skills.
  • Strategic planning skills.
  • Knowledge of product and sector.
  • Financial and business acumen.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate accessibly and concisely to outsiders, including prospective customers and clients, partners, vendors.
