Vice President, Payer Economics (Remote)

The VP of Payer Economics will apply a rigorous analytical approach to value-based care contracts as well as overseeing financial planning and analysis for the Strategic Payer Partnerships team. These contracts will span Medicare Advantage, Commercial and Medicaid lines of business. The value-based care contract analysis will include evaluating potential outcomes in upside, downside and full risk contracts, evaluating impacts of individual contracting terms, and evaluating the need for reinsurance. In addition, this role will be responsible for devising internal financial risk-mitigation strategies, evaluating the financial benefits of high priority strategic initiatives, overseeing the team financial planning and reporting process, and using financial analyses to convey key messages to senior stakeholders. 

As a senior leader within the Strategic Payer Partnerships team, the VP will actively promote a culture that aligns with Aledade and team values, and will coach and mentor other team members.

We are flexible with respect to geographic location, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable working remotely within the US with considerable amounts of travel. 

Primary Duties:

• Establish an actuarial/economic framework for evaluating value-based care contracts and deal terms across MA, Commercial and Medicaid contracts
• Apply analytical rigor to calculating the economic costs and benefits of different permutations of deal terms within a single contract and across contracts
• Develop and present analyses to Contracting teams and senior leadership in support of payer contracts
• Oversee the development of the Strategic Payer Partnerships team's financial plans and model the impact of the team's long-term strategic plans

Minimum Qualifications:

• 15+ years in healthcare with health plans or consulting firms within value-based care 
• Master's degree or other advanced degrees in finance, economics, actuarial sciences, statistics, math or another quantitative field
• Ability to think beyond their immediate team and contribute to making Aledade holistically better (active engagement in DE&I efforts, culture initiatives, facilitating training, leading roundtables, etc.)

Preferred knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:

• Demonstrated ability to independently lead and execute complex, high visibility projects with multiple stakeholders
• Proven track record of creating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships and communicating effectively with senior management as well as a strong ability to communicate actuarial concepts and results to a range of audiences including non-actuarial leaders and colleagues
• Data manipulation skills, including working knowledge of SQL, R, and/or SAS  programming.
• Experience developing and applying consistent analytical frameworks to contracts in the value-based care space
• Intense attention to detail and data quality assurance
• Experience successfully managing a team
• Passionate about driving the shift from fee-for-service to value-based care
