Job Description
As VP of Sales you will be a dynamic team leader and proactive individual and play a pivotal role in driving solar panel initiatives. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in selling systems, solutions, or products within the U.S. solar market, specifically focusing on the commercial rooftop segment. Strong analytical skills, a penchant for creative data-driven decision-making, and the ability to build, coach, and lead teams to achieve goals.
This role involves close collaboration with global teams engaged in product development, aiming to identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and improved value for applications in the U.S. market. The successful candidate must be execution-oriented, capable of influencing and leading diverse stakeholders, adept at customer interactions, and possess keen attention to detail to drive the development of the U.S. market and meet revenue targets.
Experience:
- Lead all U.S. sales endeavors to achieve revenue and margin targets set by senior management.
- Develop an actionable sales plan for the U.S. market, encompassing markets, products, customers, resources, and personnel.
- Collaborate with customers and applications engineering to identify and construct compelling business cases for successful penetration of the U.S. market.
- Recruit, train, and manage a small sales team.
- Monitor and track team progress, provide project status reports, lead ideation sessions, and manage stakeholder engagement.
- Offer insights and data-driven approaches to senior management and product management for optimal product selection.
- Identify and lead internal initiatives to enhance solar product competitiveness and technical suitability.
- Foster robust relationships with key clients and partners.
- Support marketing planning and initiatives.
- Attend tradeshows and conferences to promote brand growth.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to solar photovoltaics and the roofing industry.
Requirements:
- College degree.
- Minimum of 6 years of industry experience in solar, with at least 5 years in sales or business development.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct business-to-business sales management.
- In-depth familiarity with the design and mounting of commercial solar projects.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with the solar project design lifecycle and document sets.
- Proficiency in sales management methodologies and CRM systems.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Willingness to travel as required to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Maintenance of a valid driver’s license and passport.
