THE WORK YOU WILL DO:

As the Vice President of Safety, you will be the strategic leader of Safety across the PSSI Enterprise, responsible for fostering excellence in safety practices and cultivating an enterprise-wide safety-first culture.  Additional functions of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Strategic Leadership: Support the Senior leadership team in developing short- and long-term strategic goals to enhance safety across the organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with PSSI Operations teams, Sales, Marketing, and Field HR providing the necessary resources to respond to and service both internal and external customers effectively.
  • Safety Policies and Controls: Develop, implement, and integrate safety procedures into business operations, monitoring controls and driving continuous improvement in safety performance.
  • Analysis and Trending: Provide essential analysis and trending data to drive excellence in safety practices while also using risk-based analysis and data to guide safety initiatives to both proactively and predictively improve safety outcomes for our team members.
  • Customer Relationships: Develop and nurture corporate relationships with customers, ensuring alignment with safety goals and standards.
  • Team Development: Coach and develop the Safety department, preparing them for future growth and challenges. 


YOUR MUST HAVES:

  • 10+ years of experience supporting technical roles for safety teams.
  • Experience in managing enterprise safety culture and programs across different business units.
  • Proficient computer skills associated with Microsoft Office and basic skills required to learn new programs.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license.
  • Proven working knowledge of OSHA regulations.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing data to develop strategies around safety KPIs, leading indicators, and future indicators. 
  • Proven understanding of industry trends and the ability to analyze and anticipate future trends.
  • A proven track record of growth and advancement in a successful organization showcasing strong management experience and knowledge at a senior level.
  • Ability to motivate teams to succeed, grow, and improve.
  • Proven history of working well within a team, including adherence to core values within a  dynamic corporate culture

 

OUR ENVIRONMENT:

This position is based in your home office, when not travelling to the corporate headquarters, customer, or plant locations which may require the use of PPE including safety glasses, hardhat, ear protection and/or other protective equipment/clothing.  Walking, standing, sitting, and computer work are all required in this environment.  Sitting for long periods of time when travelling (mostly driving) is also required.
