Walton Arts Center Inc. operates two campuses: a 1,200-seat proscenium theatre and 269-seat black box in Fayetteville and an 11,000-capacity outdoor Amphitheatre known as the Walmart AMP in Rogers, AR. Walton Arts Center has been Arkansas' premier performing arts center for over 30 years and Walmart AMP has consistently been one of Billboard's top-rated amphitheaters producing 30 plus concerts per season.

Position Overview
The VP of Marketing & Sales assumes a pivotal role in orchestrating the company's communications endeavors, including campaign innovation, brand stewardship, patron cultivation, corporate messaging strategy, digital marketing strategies and building deeper relations across our community. An astute grasp of evolving trends in live entertainment marketing, coupled with an unwavering dedication to data-driven analytics, defines this role. The VP will ensure that all advertising campaigns, external messaging, collateral materials, digital presence, and guest services fully represent the mission, vision, and values of Walton Arts Center. This individual will speak with the voice of WAC, have the capacity to represent that voice externally and be a central hub for communication materials across all department.
Requirements
Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer. Direct Reports: Marketing, Graphic Design, Ticketing, and Public Relations
Key Leadership Responsibilities
  • Forge a synergistic partnership with all departments, harmonizing marketing, creative, community relations, communications, sales, sponsorship, business development, and guest services endeavors
  • Leverage collaborative executive insight and business analytics to ideate, monitor, and appraise marketing and sales decisions and campaigns
  • Pioneer the leadership of an accomplished in-house communication team, providing advocacy, coaching and growth prospects
  • Establish and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with senior staff and board members
  • Together with the Creative Director provide leadership in the creation of visual assets that dynamically tell the story of WAC programming, programs, and membership /fundraising campaigns
  • Manage the performance of and inspire a results-driven environment for the ticketing and communications teams.
  • Identify and target specific audience segments to increase attendance and engagement, including outreach to diverse and underserved communities
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with sponsors, local businesses, arts, tourism, and music industry stakeholders to enhance marketing efforts and support the Walton Arts Center & Walmart AMP programs

Communications Responsibilities
  • Formulate and spearhead a multi-dimensional communication and brand strategy geared towards amplifying revenue prospects across diverse channels while crafting a narrative that impels captivating storytelling
  • Utilize analytics to quantify outcomes and evaluate measurable metrics
  • Create a strategic marketing and communication plan to support all WAC / AMP initiatives
  • Support communication efforts across the organization, including food & beverage, development & fundraising, education, and community partnership needs

Sales Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal and external Ticket Sales Vendors, Service & Operations, Business Analytics, and other units.
  • Support ticketing &box office teams with customer service issues and escalation as needed
  • Establish standardized reporting metrics to provide business intelligence regarding different modes of sales and work with the ticketing director to optimize sales strategies across phone, web and in person
  • Direct the implementation of an integrated communications strategy and sales plan to support subscription, single ticket, and group sales goals through traditional tactics as well as in contemporary channels of digital media, and direct response

Finance Responsibilities / Data Analytics
  • Monitor progress against established budgets and present weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual status reports
  • Utilize business analytics to evaluate communication and sales decisions and optimize outcomes
  • Regularly conduct and analyze audience and market research to assess audience satisfaction, understand demographic and psychographic profiles, and hone tactics for increasing audience size and market footprint
  • Together with Marketing & ticketing director and other key stakeholders prepare annual income goals for earned revenue
  • Together with marketing, ticketing and PR directors create and manage expense budgets for communications and ticketing
  • Establish standardized reporting metrics to provide business intelligence regarding direct response rates and website data analytics

  • Maintain security and safety requirements as defined by operations guidelines

Work Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a leader or individual contributor marketing live events for an arena, stadium, or performing arts venue
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a leader or individual contributor responsible for building relationships with and growing a subscription base
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing communication issues and messaging for an arts organization or company
  • Experience elevating ticket revenue and food and beverage revenue through marketing efforts

Physical
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly (on telephone)
  • Must have a working cell phone and be willing to install basic applications and be willing to use it for work purposes
  • Must be able to endure sitting or standing for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to endure standing or walking for extended periods of time on various surfaces such as concrete, grass, and inclined surfaces
  • Must be able to endure outdoor elements including cold, heat, wind, and/or precipitation
  • Must be able to work in large, crowded environments, with flashing lights, loud music and noises, pyrotechnics, and cannons as part of shows and events
