The Al J. Schneider Company, ALJSCO Management, LLC is currently seeking a dynamic, service-oriented Vice President of Operations. Within this corporate position the VP of Operations will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operation activities providing multi-hotel leadership focusing on guest satisfaction, associate satisfaction, and shareholder satisfaction. Acting as a direct supervisor to the General Managers, this position will ensure development and implementation of efficient operations providing support and resources while reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer.
Work Requirements
- Collaborates with executive leadership supplying expertise and guidance to ensure operational excellence for all AJS Hotels through strategic business planning, service initiatives, revenue generation, departmental costs and operating profits.
- Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization's goals and objectives.
- Ensure proper follow-up and follow thru on company deadlines and initiatives.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
- Provides effective people leadership by attracting, motivating, developing, rewarding and retaining top talent.
- Provides support, critique and guidance to AJS Hotels of brand standards and company expectations. Ensures quality compliance and performance approving action plans generated by the hotels.
- Ensures the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.
- Promotes company policies and values to associates and guests through direct and indirect interaction. This role is a high-visibility position, requiring strong communication skills. The Vice President of Operations must maintain the highest level of integrity and lead by example in all areas.
- Responsible for GSS Performance of AJS Hotels, ensuring all hotels exceed the Brand average and do not fall below the Brand Required minimum threshold.
- Conducts P&L Reviews with each General Manager to ensure focus on areas of opportunity and develop actions plans to improve performance.
- Works jointly with the VP of Revenue Management and VP of Sales & Marketing to ensure Sales, Marketing, and Revenue strategies are in line to achieve goals.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, Hotel Management, or related field.
- Ten (10) years of progressive direct hotel operations management experience with a reputable hotel brand.
- Experience with Full-Service Hotels - Rooms and Food & Beverage.
- Proven leadership skills, strong supervision, decision making, delegation, communication (written and oral), organization, planning, and problem solving.
- "Hands-on" leadership approach to management and team development.
- Excellent communicator and the ability to deliver presentations in a concise, well-organized manner.
- Ability to work and build relationships with individuals within different levels of the organization from the senior executive leadership to the front line employees.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong P&L experience and proficient at statistical and competitive analysis. Ability to analyze P&L statements, develop operating budgets, forecasting and capital expenditure planning; ability to report on those.
