The Vice President (VP) of Human Resources for the Financial Services Division supports all aspects of talent management for our accounting, tax and advisory services businesses which is the fastest growing business segment for CBIZ. The VP will play a critical role in identifying, shaping, and implementing talent strategies that align with and support the overall goals of the Financial Services business and reflect best practice and industry trends.
As a member of the HR leadership team, the VP for Financial Services partners and collaborates with the overall HR team and infrastructure to drive consistent, standard, and centralized HR processes and whenever possible, to leverage internal resources like shared services, automation/technology and other tools aimed at increasing efficiency and accuracy. In doing so, the VP for Financial Services seeks to position the team of Senior HR Directors (direct reports to this position) to serve as true strategic partners to their respective business leaders focused on accelerating talent focused strategies and proactive problem solving to enable the business to perform and achieve its goals and objectives.
As a member of the Financial Services leadership team, the VP for Financial Services partners and collaborates with business leaders to ensure talent strategies, processes and policies enable the business to achieve its goals and navigate a changing business environment.
This role reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer and is a member of the HR leadership team. This role has dotted line responsibility to the President of the Financial Services division and has approximately six direct reports.
Responsibilities:
Talent Management
• Working with both HR and business leaders, develop and execute talent management strategies that align to and support business goals and objectives. Serve as a collaborative thought partner for business leaders and provide insights and recommendations on all aspects of talent management.
• In collaboration with the HR leadership team, drive a comprehensive and consistent approach to performance evaluation that reflects best practices and supports the ongoing development and advancement of talent across the business.
• Stay up to date on professional services industry talent trends to ensure our talent management approach remains competitive and attractive to top-tier talent. Routinely network with other industry HR professionals to identify and understand emerging talent strategies that may positively impact our business.
• Defines, monitors, and articulates talent management performance metrics including service level agreements to assess and demonstrate ROI and effectiveness. Supports HR reporting and review processes.
• Partner with the Director of Total Rewards on all aspects of compensation planning, analysis and execution for Financial Services business including base, bonus and related compensation or incentive programs. Monitor industry compensation benchmarks and be proactive in providing information and analysis to inform compensation decisions and planning.
• Supports acquisition growth strategy by serving as a subject matter expert during due diligence, integration planning and ongoing execution.
Talent Attraction & Retention
• Support business leaders in ongoing workforce planning including articulating hiring needs to support the current state and future growth of the business. Provide accurate information and ongoing feedback to the CBIZ recruitment team to help guide recruitment efforts.
• Proactively monitor and analyze turnover data to identify opportunities for improvement to retain, develop and advance top-tier talent.
• Support all aspects of the CBIZ company-wide succession planning process to ensure there is a strong pipeline of talent prepared to support the future needs of the business.
Financial Services HR Team
• Lead a dynamic team of HR professionals to meet or exceed service levels for the business.
• Identify opportunities to position HR professionals to provide additional value to business leaders including by shifting routine, transactional work to centralized resources.
• Monitor and analyze available HR capacity and shift resources to address and respond to the needs of the business.
• Builds, leads, and develops a team including team members and consultants to support a rapidly growing company.
• Develop, coach, and position our Senior HR Directors as the strategic HR leader for their respective businesses. Develop and maintain personalized development plans for these leaders and identify opportunities for professional and leadership development, experiential learning, and other opportunities to build and grow skills.
HR Administration
• Supports preparation of annual HR budget including investment priorities.
• Supports monthly financial review meetings for the Financial Services division to answer questions and provide information.
• Own and manages external vendor and consultant relationships as assigned.
• Partners with diversity and inclusion leaders from across CBIZ and utilizes best practice information to ensure talent management programs attract, retain, and promote a diverse workforce and inclusive culture.
• Partners with the corporate communications team to communicate HR strategies and changes to enhance team member understanding and perceived value of human resources programs on an ongoing basis.
• Additional duties as assigned.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, Finance, or related field. Masters degree preferred.
• 10 years advancing experience in support HR in a professional services environment. Industry specific experience in Financial Services is preferred. Proven experience in talent management, organizational development, and HR process optimization.
• Proven ability to serve as a proactive and collaborative thought partner as a member of both the HR leadership team and the Financial Services business leadership team.
• Credibility and understanding of talent best practice and trends for the professional services industry. Ability to tailor best practice for CBIZ.
• Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, influential communications and to manage multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to developing and growing a team, and proven ability to manage consultants and external vendors for execution.
• Working knowledge of current employment law and government regulations. Awareness of best practice and market trends in compensation especially within professional services and publicly traded companies.
• Prior experience leveraging a comprehensive HRIS system for talent management purposes.
• Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills. Prior experience working with executive leaders, teams of cross functional employees and multiple partners and stakeholders.
• Proven skill and understanding of change management with the ability to influence stakeholders with competing priorities and differences of opinion towards a common goal and solution, enabling decision-making.
