A client of BMF, a Premier Manufacturing Company based in Cleveland OH, seeks a strategic executive professional to fill the role responsible for executing and overseeing the financial management, planning, and governance of the organization. The Vice President / Chief Financial Officer plays a critical role within our manufacturing and ecommerce businesses to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. As the senior financial leader, the CFO will work closely with the CEO and the executive team to drive financial strategy, maximize profitability, and ensure the company's financial health and sustainability. The CFO reports directly to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with the company's objectives and long-term vision.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor the annual budget.
- Create financial forecasts and projections to guide the company's financial planning.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Manage the annual financial audit/review process.
- Monitor and optimize cash flow (working capital) to support day-to-day operations and long-term financial stability.
- Monitor and manage banking relationships and credit facilities including evaluation of financing options for capital projects and growth initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Monitor insurance coverage and assess risk exposure.
- Ensure compliance with all financial and accounting regulations, standards, and reporting requirements.
- Develop and execute tax strategies that optimize the company's tax position while ensuring compliance with tax law.
- Collaborate with operational teams to analyze and control production costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
- Evaluate ERP system for operational and financial capabilities and performance.
- Implement financial systems and tools to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy, where needed.
- Oversight of human resources function including benefits acquisition, administration, and payroll.
- Supervision of production payroll, workers compensation, FMLA, COBRA, ACA and union negotiations.
- Lead financial due diligence for potential mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.
- Participate in negotiations and integration planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA, CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Several years of progressive experience in financial management, including prior experience as a CFO, controller or finance manager in manufacturing and or Ecommerce.
- Experience in financial strategy development, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Strategic thinker with ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, compliance and best practices.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions.
