Veterinary Receptionist

Moreland Veterinary Hospital in Portland, OR is searching for a Receptionist to join our team.

Those with prior veterinary, humane society, or other animal-related experience are encouraged to apply, however, we’re also open to training. If you’re committed to a long-term career in veterinary medicine, we highly encourage you to apply for this position.

Background and experience:

• A strong desire to help animals (we primarily see dogs and cats)
• A team player who thrives in collaborative environments
• Exceptional communication and multi-tasking abilities
• Strong work ethic and ability to jump in and help where needed
• Eager to learn about the veterinary field (terminology, procedures, medical conditions, etc.)

Responsibilities:

• Client service and communication
• Welcoming and discharging patients
• Collaboration with other team members
• Managing phone lines
• Booking appointments
• Setting up new clients and patients
• Over-the-counter sales
• Financial transactions
• General front desk duties (email, faxing, filing, etc.)
• Ensuring that the reception area of the hospital is always clean and presentable
• Attention to detail and awareness of surroundings, noticing areas of need within the practice

Full-time benefits:

• Compensation: $19.00 - $20.00/hour (based on experience)

Conveniently located off Milwaukie Ave, the Moreland team has been providing routine and emergency medical and surgical services to small animals in our community since 1998.
