Astoria Senior Living in Tracy, CA is hiring for a Utility Cook!
Pay Ranges from $16-$17 per hour.
Utility Prep Cookposition details:
- Prep and serve Participate in serving food or beverages as requested.
- Dish up food and/or assist in food preparation as requested by cooks or supervisors.
- Assist in record keeping as assigned.
- Notify the Supervisor of needed supplies and equipment malfunctions.
- Help maintain a clean, orderly, and safe kitchen environment. Empty trash and dispose of recyclables in assigned areas.
- Clean/sanitize equipment, appliances, floors, drains, storage areas, refrigerator, freezer, and sinks according to schedule.
- Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks.
- Rinse/soak and put away dishes, pots, pans, and tableware; load, run, and monitor the dish machine.
- Store food properly for infection control.
- Embrace & demonstrate the organization’s 4 core values: Professionalism, Integrity, Compassion, and Commitment.
- Previous experience working with the elderly population preferred; not required.
- Experience as a server or wait staff as well as prepping food preferred.
- Excellent care, customer service, and communication with co-workers and residents.
- Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations and ability to lift to 35 lbs. repetitively.
- Must be able to work independently, read, write, and utilize math skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of written and verbal instructions.
- Strong English Communication for seamless interaction with residents and colleagues.
