Prep Cook / Server

Job Summary:

We are seeking someone who can do a dual role at our cocktail lounge and vodka distillery in Vista, CA. The main roll will call for a Prep Cook set up, who can also do floor/serving capabilities when needed as well.

It is not a large place, and we are introducing a very simple and light food program that we will need someone to take charge of. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our culinary team. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for assisting in food preparation, menu planning, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our customers receive high-quality meals and service.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of meals according to recipes and portion sizes
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen
- Collaborate with the culinary team to plan menus and prepare ingredients
- Help with meal preparation for catering events or special occasions
- Maintain inventory of food supplies and notify the supervisor when items need to be restocked
- Ensure that all food products are properly labeled, stored, and rotated to prevent spoilage
- Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and report any malfunctions or issues to the supervisor
- Adhere to dietary department guidelines and accommodate special dietary requests as needed

Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Prep Cook or similar role preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a team
- Basic understanding of menu planning and meal preparation techniques
- Culinary training or certification is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
