JOB SUMMARY
The University Relations Operations Coordinator plays an important role in supporting the Office’s mission to strengthen donor commitment to Southern Nazarene University.
This position works with the Vice President for University Relations and supports the work of the entire department. This position serves as administrative lead support for all departments within University Relations and communicates regularly with a variety of internal and external constituencies. Duties include administrative tasks, budget management, event planning, using the constituent database to manage donor and alumni records and send strategic communications, and supervising and training student workers.
The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, leads with personal initiative and ownership, is responsive to deadlines, can manage several projects simultaneously, understands and appreciates processes, works well in a team environment with the alumni, church relations, and fundraising arms of the University, and will embrace a role where they can partner with the entire campus as a resource for engaging alumni and supporters of the University.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
- Provide office management tasks, including paying bills, providing regular budget updates, managing the office master calendar, ordering and maintaining needed office supplies, answering the telephone, managing mailings, setting meetings, working with volunteers, coordinating visits, and serving as the University Relation’s first impression welcoming guests.
- Support team event planning needs including alumni relations, church relations, and advancement as needed on key events such as Homecoming, senior outreach, alumni chapter gatherings, fundraising and stewardship events, and travel to churches and District/General Assemblies.
- Interact with donors to support the Vice President and gift officers as needed.
- Work with the team to send strategic donor, church, and alumni communications using the Raisers Edge NXT database, including creating e-newsletters and event invitations.
- At all times maintain donor confidentiality and protect donor records following industry and University guidelines.

Required Qualifications:
- Southern Nazarene University is an expression of the Church of the Nazarene. - An understanding of the importance for diversity, inclusion and equity.
- Some college coursework required.
- Three years’ experience working in an office setting, preferably managing day-to-day operations.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a fast-paced work environment
- Typing and spelling competency
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including proficiency with Excel and Word) and/or Google Suite, and comfort with learning various computer software applications
- Data entry experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in higher education or church setting
Supervision Received:
Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.
Supervision Exercised:
Helps coordinate work assignments for student employees.
