Job description

Overview
This position is a Business Intern position implementing strategic priorities within the Operational Systems Directorate Content and Document Management team. The position is in a fast-paced dynamic environment supporting a variety of organizational needs such as quality control, building readiness and startup activities, document development, project support, and more. In this position you will assist teams in verifying construction activities are complete, spaces are ready for occupancy, and documentation to support the analysis are of an appropriate quality and in compliance with records management requirements.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate is seeking a project management degree or equivalent. We are seeking a detail oriented, quick-learning, multi-tasking, and collaboration focused individual to lead tasks and gather data to support our priorities and advance our initiatives. This environment requires interacting with multiple staff members, leading tasks, and producing quality documentation. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, have project management experience, and a background in construction related activities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Candidates must have a high school diploma /GED or higher
  • Candidates must be degree-seeking undergraduate students enrolled at an accredited college or university
  • Candidates must be taking at least 6 credit hours and have an overall cumulative GPA of 2.5

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Detail oriented and excellent customer service skills. Enjoy a variety of tasks and collaboration, be comfortable with leading efforts and directing activities, and be willing to openly communicate status.
  • Quick learner who can work within a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of products without assistance, including Word, Outlook, Excel and Project.
  • Experience and knowledge in operating SharePoint and MS Teams.
  • Background in facilities or construction.

HSPD-12 PIV Credential Requirement
In accordance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and Department of Energy (DOE) Order 473.1A, new employees are required to obtain and maintain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential. To obtain this credential, new employees must successfully complete and pass a Federal Tier 1 background check investigation. This investigation includes a declaration of illegal drug activities, including use, supply, possession, or manufacture within the last year. This includes marijuana and cannabis derivatives, which are still considered illegal under federal law, regardless of state laws.
Mandatory Requirements
Please be aware that the Department of Energy (DOE) prohibits DOE employees and contractors from having any affiliation with the foreign government of a country DOE has identified as a "country of risk" without explicit approval by DOE and Battelle.
