Provide leadership, oversight and coordination of the multiple departments that report under Tribal Operations, to include formulating policies, managing daily operations, supervising staff, and resolving operational problems/issues.
Essential Duties:
- Direct and coordinate activities of businesses or departments concerned with the Tribal Operations.
- Manage department directors and managers within the operations sector of the Tribe.
- Direct and coordinate departments' financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize use, and increase efficiency.
- Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with operations program directors, tribal officers, general manager, and staff members, as necessary.
- Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process.
- Perform relevant research to identify available grant opportunities and evaluate the results.
- Ensure grants are implemented according to the operational and financial needs of the organization.
- Monitor departments to ensure they are providing the services required by budgets, granting agencies and tribal directives.
- Determine staffing requirements, hire, and supervise department directors and oversee operations employees to ensure staff accountability.
Additional Duties:
- Plan and direct activities and coordinate with other department heads as required.
- Ensure staff operates programs efficiently and effectively and that goals/objectives are met on an annual basis.
- Recommend locations for new facilities or oversee the remodeling of current facilities.
- Ensure overall professionalism, effectiveness, and efficient management of staff.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other tribal programs and with local, state, and federal agencies.
- Be available for program directors or other program staff as needed.
- Attend meetings as requested by Tribal Council including but not limited to Tribal Council meetings, special meetings, work sessions, administration meetings, and departmental meetings.

Education & Experience:
Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree in business management, business administration and/or political science OR a combined equivalent of education and experience that demonstrates the abilities to perform the essential functions of the position is required.
Experience:
- Four years of management and/or supervision experience required.
- One year grant management and reporting strongly preferred.
- Experience working for tribal government organizations preferred.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Must have and maintain a valid and unrestricted Washington State driver license.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a thorough pre-employment background investigation.
- Must agree to be subject to the Tribe's Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Policy to include pre-employment screening.
Work Environment:
The work environment includes an office environment in a controlled atmosphere building. Work environment varies and may include outdoor work in all types of weather. Noise levels are typically low to moderate but will also include high noise levels at times. Work environment will also include construction environments where safety precautions may be necessary. Remote or hybrid work arrangements may be possible in accordance with the Tribe's Telecommuting Policy.
