Mansfield City SchoolsThere is a part-time Treasurer's Office Assistant position available for Mansfield City Schools beginning in the 2023-2024 school year.
Summary:
Assists the Treasurer's Office staff in carrying out the financial responsibilities for the District. Must be detail-oriented and impose a strong drive for accuracy.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Enters data into systems such as Uniform School Accounting System (USAS), Uniform School Payroll System (USPS), Kiosk, etc.
- Compile data and prepare a variety of reports
- Prepare physical and electronic mailings and maintain files as needed within the department
- Prepare physical and electronic correspondence as needed within the department
- Assist in processing payroll with payroll system and payroll related items when requested
- District employee communication
- Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the Treasurer's office
- As directed, work with state auditors to provide support/reports for annual audits
- Assist in preparing financial reports such as the School Employment Retirement System (SERS), School Teachers Retirement System (STRS), IRS reports, etc.
- Keeps current with updates/changes in technology and office related software
- Participates in staff meetings and professional growth activities as directed
- Perform such other administrative tasks as may be required from time to time - quite often on short notice - by the Treasurer, Executive Assistant to the Treasurer, Superintendent, or the Board of Education
- Assists in maintaining employee files and the Treasurer's Office filing system
- May work with state auditors to provide support/reports for annual audits
- Requires the ability to maintain confidential information.
- Requires the ability to work independently
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of three years of experience in working with computers and the ability to execute programs that update files such as MSWord, Excel, Google, etc.
- Basic math skills
- Payroll knowledge helpful
- Basic understanding of USAS and USPS a plus
- Proficient in office protocol and the use of business equipment
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
- Multitasking ability and strong interpersonal skills
- Physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Treasurer's Office Assistant job
- While performing the responsibilities of the Treasurer's Office Assistant job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision
