This position is part of the Office of Environmental Management - Oak Ridge Office, Department of Energy. As a Transportation Specialist, you will plan, manage, and evaluate integrated, sophisticated, safe, and compliant transportation operations. Recommends policies and criteria to develop and maintain a transportation network activity database, documentation, and analytical capability using Department Of Energy automated transportation logistics systems and other tools.Qualifications:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following
- Conducting physical reviews on radiation shipment, hazardous material, transportation, securement technical drawings, safety and health documents to ensure safe shipments practices in accordance with 49 CFR.
- Conducting radiological calculation process for determining packaging and controls for radioactive shipments to include identify hazardous material, classifying material, communication/labeling, and controls for shipping in accordance with 49 CFR.
- Providing oversight of commercial motor vehicle operations in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Providing oversight of all hazardous and radioactive material packaging and shipping operations.
