The Transportation Planner will work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment and must have excellent communication, GIS, data management, analytical, and documentation skills. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about development of existing skills and learning new ones as they help our state, regional, and local clients meet their goals and bring innovative solutions to their problems. The candidate will participate in the collection and analysis of data, provide technical support on transportation planning projects of varying size and scope, and work with senior staff to develop recommendations, reports, and presentations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university
- PE and/or AICP Certification preferred
- 4+ years of experience performing transportation planning/engineering activities
- Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro; additionally, proficiency with Esri web-based mapping software preferred
- Basic knowledge of graphic design programs, such as Adobe Illustrator, preferred but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Strong writing and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail along with overall quality control and management
- Conscientous of project schedules and deadlines involving deliverables (including interim deadlines)
- Strong teamwork and project organization skills working on projects and with staff
- Willingness to learn new skills and pivot among a wide variety of transportation planning projects
