Delivering a successful transportation project requires coordination with a wide variety of stakeholders and specialty groups. Our employees also participate and provide expertise on local, statewide, or national committees, task forces, and steering groups. We are invested in identifying and implementing improvements in all aspects of our work.

CDOT offers many free training opportunities offered during work time. We offer a robust Transportation Engineering Training Program that consists of courses specifically designed to meet CDOT's specialized needs as well as ones offered by the National Highway Institute. CDOT offers everything from brown bag seminars, to leadership courses, and very technical training.

To be successful at CDOT, our employees should be highly organized, possess excellent project management skills, be comfortable engaging with internal and external stakeholders, able to build consensus with diverse groups, be a strong communicator, maintain a project's momentum, be knowledgeable about CDOT's standards and specifications, as well as be able to proactively identify and resolve potential engineering problems.

Our employees are passionate about improving safety for everyone who uses our infrastructure. We take pride in what we do and get a thrill when we see a completed project that we were involved in.

At CDOT, we do more than build and maintain roads as the decisions our employees make directly affect the communities that we live in. CDOT's mission is to provide the best multi-modal transportation system for Colorado that most effectively and safely moves people, goods, and information.
