Overview
NLC's Training Specialists uphold the integrity of the educational methods and ensure that NLC core values are being met. By acting as a mentor, they will improve the life of our students who will in turn improve the lives, the industries we serve, and the country. This position holds the training we deliver in such high regard that they will continually inspire others to excel and succeed, which will ensure only "First Choice" students are introduced to all internal and external customers of our industry.
*FULL ON-SITE POSITION
*REQUIRES RELOCATION TO AREA/ RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE
*UP TO 30% TRAVEL REQUIREMENT W/ THIS ROLE

In this position you will have the opportunity to:
  • Conducts field and classroom training using the 4-step delivery method.
  • Prepares for knowledge and skill delivery each term in a proactive manner.
  • Maintains updated and current knowledge on all programs and catalogs.
  • Identifies short falls and provides solutions ensuring the campus is always ready to deliver training.
  • Works with Director, Education to identify and resolve areas of improvement and set professional goals.
  • Identifies and recommends different approaches to training sessions, such as new materials, methodologies, and activities to enhance the learning experience of our students.
  • Behaves in a way that encourages and inspires students and co-workers and contributes to a work environment that promotes teamwork and respect.
  • Adheres to the Instructors Creed, Spirit Book, and Our Way manual. Shows the "What's best for the student?" mindset.
Required Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Journeyman lineman (certificate of completion of formalized apprenticeship program required).
  • Certified in CPR, First Aid, and demonstrated proficiency in all trade related pre-apprentice competencies.
  • Knowledge of regulations that apply to electrical linework (OSHA, NESC, etc.).
  • Ability to climb and work in elevated positions up to 95 feet.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time, to bend and reach and to move or carry items weighing up to 65 pounds.
  • Ability to utilize personal fall arrest and positioning device systems within OSHA regulations and manufacturer's recommendations (combined tool and body weight not to exceed 310 pounds, standard tool weight estimated at 45 pounds, body weight at or under 265 pounds).
  • Proficient in the use of computers.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%.
  • CDL or ability to obtain is not required, but desirable.

  • Ability to effectively training others in a field and classroom environment.
Salary
  • $131,164 annually ($63.06 hourly equivalent), with opportunity for growth in our technical educator progression program.
  • Includes outstanding benefits package and relocation assistance.
