Clarity's psycho-educational specialists specialize in assessment and diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders, including specific learning disorders (including dyslexia and nonverbal learning disorder), ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and intellectual disability, and in the development of recommendations for appropriate remediation of concerns. Clients served are usually preschool age to young adulthood.
Major Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations of clients with referral concerns related to learning, behavioral, emotional, and/or social difficulties
- Provide written and oral feedback to clients regarding results of evaluations, diagnostic impressions, and recommendations for appropriate remediation of concerns including referrals and follow-up as required.
Predominant Tasks
- Conduct in-person comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations.
- Following evaluation, provide face-to-face feedback sessions (via telehealth or in-person) with the patient (or their legal guardian in the case of a minor).
- Compile a written report detailing the evaluation findings, diagnosis(es), and recommendations to be kept in the patient's medical record and to be shared with the patient (or their legal guardian in the case of a minor) and referral source (in accordance with HIPAA Privacy and Security Plans).
- If desired, may provide educational therapy and/or counseling to clients, maintaining appropriate documentation in the client's chart.
- Ensure that written documentation (that is, reports and progress notes) is uploaded into the Perfect Care Document Manager in a timely manner per departmental policy.
- Work with outside agencies, community programs, and educational programs as needed to assist in best client care (in accordance with HIPAA Privacy and Security Plans).
- Provide coaching to parents/caregivers, when needed, to assist them in advocating their child's needs in school settings and beyond.
- Actively seek out supervision when needed.
- Remain current within the field of psychology and seek opportunities for continuing education about child and family issues related to learning, behavioral, emotional, and social challenges.
- Maintain an active license and good standing with the South Carolina state board.
- Comply with Clarity's HIPAA privacy and security policies
- Collaborate with all other team members to facilitate realization of Clarity mission, including attending routine departmental and general staff meetings.
- Assist with marketing and promotion of psychology and counseling program and agency.
