The Training Supervisor oversees the onboarding and development of the Transportation Department's team members. This position is responsible for the administration and coordination of training courses for the Department. The Training Supervisor ensures existing team members are up-to-date on Policies and Procedures, Standard Operating Guidelines, work methods, and new product and process training, while championing the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that reflects and upholds the Tribal Community's vision, mission and values.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Creates and implements a formalized learning and training curriculum to increase efficiency, effectiveness and productivity with an emphasis on new hire onboarding, job specific training and best in class service. Transportation on-the-job and classroom training on organizational, departmental, functional and job-specific policies/procedures. Conducts new hire orientation for all new and transfer team members, schedule follow-up evaluations, and ensure a successful team member onboarding experience.
2. Maintains compliance with all health and safety regulations, departmental Standard Operation Guidelines with audits and process inspections. Assigns, tracks, and monitors knowledge and process testing and training regarding courses completed. Develops alternative training methods if expected improvements are not realized.
3. Creates and revises Standard Operating Guidelines, policies, and procedures as needed. Ensures policy and procedure compliance with continuous training and refresher training of all Transportation team members. Reviews and updates departmental training manuals as necessary.
4. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the enterprise's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing concerns and resolving issues.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Three years training experience required.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year training experience preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year in a supervisory role.
- Experience in training and developing team members to assist them in achieving full competency.
- Experience working in a fast paced environment.
- Must be self-motivated, results oriented, friendly and confident.
- Must possess strong public speaking, written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Products - specifically Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience with internet navigation applications and acquaintance with other business software.
- Ability to perform efficiently in a fast paced, high demand environment.
- Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
- A qualified candidate/employee must have and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the enterprise's insurance carrier.
