Job Title: Training & Development Specialist
Location: Neptune, New Jersey - 100% onsite position
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB - As an essential member of the TLA HR department, the Training and Development Specialist will be responsible for the training, certification, and development of employees at all levels in a wide variety of jobs across multiple locations/states - - e.g., electronics assemblers, testers, technicians, warehouse staff, Engineering staff, supervisors & managers, etc. This is a full-time in office role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES
- Develop, document, and maintain training curriculum for all staff including, but not limited to manufacturing, warehouse, management and support staff
- Together with subject matter experts, create and maintain training materials including content and evaluation tools that are appropriate for the topic/skill. Typical classes include, but are not limited to:
- new employee onboarding/orientation
- safety and health standards
- ISO 9001, 14001, & 13485, ESD, 5S, Lean Manufacturing principles
- use of hardware and software
- leadership development
- certain electronics industry standards - - for instance, the principles of IPC
- Deliver engaging training via classroom (live and virtual) and CBT’s in a way that enhances learning and knowledge retention
- Create an upbeat and interactive learning culture in the classroom (live and virtual)
- Work with management to write policies, procedures and training manuals using adult learning theories and accelerated learning principles
- Work with management and department supervisors to facilitate OJT procedure across departments
- Maintain/manage multiple LMS platforms
- Work with team to coordinate employee events (picnics, luncheons, etc.)
- Work with team to create and deploy corporate social responsibility activities (fundraisers, wellness events, etc.)
- Contribute to the greater success of the organization by actively sharing insights and innovations that continuously improve the employee experience.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong working knowledge of adult learning principles and accelerated learning philosophies
- Experience training to standards such as IPC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485, etc.
- Experience developing content and delivering training to 300+ workforce via blended model
- Dynamic presentation and engagement skills to facilitate learning in an effective manner
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral, written)
- Ability to plan, prioritize, organize and execute training plan
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES

EXPERIENCE - Three to six years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
EDUCATION - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Intermediate skills: Ability to navigate and use internet/intranet and other programs such as those included in the MS Office package including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher and Access, as well as Company-wide cross functional Enterprise Resource Planning software. Must also be able to perform troubleshooting.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Intermediate Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: High Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
