Definition
The City of Columbus Department of Human Resources is currently looking for a dynamic Training Coordinator to join our Citywide Training & Development Team! Citywide Training & Development (CTD) facilitates high performance through delivery of innovative training and development programs to City employees, small businesses, and the general public.
Under direction, is responsible for the coordination of training and development programs to be used by City departments and enterprise customers; performs related duties as required.
Examples of Work
- Coordinates Citywide and Training Enterprise and Small Business training programs.
- Expands enterprise and small business customer base and increases revenue opportunity through the delivery of enterprise training programs and facility rental.
- Partners with the business community and surrounding municipalities to coordinate and share in the use and development of training resources.
- Conducts training for City employees and enterprise and small business customers.
- Assists with marketing and promoting employee training and workforce development programs to City employees, small business and enterprise customers.
- Develops and distributes course catalogs and other promotional material pertaining to scheduled classes, workshops and other training and development opportunities.
- Develops social media strategy.
- Assists Training Manager with analyzing, designing, developing and implementing Citywide Training programs.
- Assists in evaluating the impact of training by using learning metrics and analytics.
- Assists in the design, development, and implementation of training curricula.
- Proven experience in designing, developing and delivering training programs.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and experience applying them to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to collaborate with department leaders, small business owners and enterprise customers to develop customized learning solutions.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Cultural awareness and the ability to design and deliver training programs that are inclusive and respectful of diverse backgrounds.
- Familiarity with learning management systems.
