Primary Purpose of the Role
The Training & Development Manager is responsible for designing and developing effective training materials to enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of our team members by employing standard change management practices and communications to Company initiatives. This role will be crucial in driving organizational change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions, and fostering a culture of adaptability. In addition, this role will partner with our internal customers across all functions to support the development and implementation of effective learning and Development programs surrounding operations, sales, technology, and people leadership. This position is responsible for employing a standard change management and communication approach to initiatives as well as designing and developing effective training materials to enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of our team members. Collaboration, exceptional listening skills, attention to detail, and effective verbal and written communication abilities will be essential in this role.
Essential Job Duties
- Consult with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to help determine learning objectives and create training materials.
- Work closely with SMEs to validate, co-design, and assist with high-quality deliverables and training sessions.
- Work with internal stakeholders resources to convert subject matter content into learning materials.
- Create, run, and analyze reports for compliance and metrics reporting.
- Maintain learning calendar and training schedules.
- Create learning materials, including training materials, for team members.
- Develop engaging instructional materials, instructor-led presentations, one-on-one sessions, job aids, and other supporting documentation.
- Utilize instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to create high-quality training content.
- Select and implement various instructional strategies, technologies, and assessment methods to ensure effective delivery and evaluation of training programs.
- Provide ongoing support and follow-up to team members by addressing training-related questions and concerns promptly.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in organizational change management, instructional design, and training delivery.
- Assists with other tasks and projects as business needs arise.
- If training is required, determine the most effective solution to meet cost and business objectives.
- Recommend and implement innovative instructional design processes, tools, and approaches based on industry best practices.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to assess organizational needs and develop change management strategies.
- Design and implement change management plans to support the adoption of new processes, systems, and organizational structures.
- Conduct impact assessments to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide guidance and support to leaders and employees during periods of change.
- Develop communication plans to ensure clear and consistent messaging related to organizational changes.
- Analyze feedback and measure the success of change initiatives, adjusting as needed.
- Facilitate training sessions to equip employees with the skills and knowledge required for successful change adoption.
- Act as a liaison between project teams and impacted departments to ensure alignment.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies, adult learning theories, and assessment strategies.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
- Proven experience in organizational change management, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of change management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Zoom, Teams, and SharePoint preferred.
- Experience in designing educational programs independently and working with teams.
- Must have excellent teamwork and collaboration skills; this role requires clear and frequent communication with people in various departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Experience with Camtasia or other eLearning/video production or photo software.
- Minimum Bachelors Degree
- Minimum L&D/ISD certificate in education, instructional design, or a related field
- Preferred Certification in Change Management (e.g., Prosci) is desirable
- 2 years Instructional design experience and Development of training materials
