THE POSITION:

The Senior Manager, Development Operations is directly responsible for successfully managing our donor database system, leading and managing special events, and grants management. This person is responsible for establishing systems and processes to adequately manage grants, sponsorships, major gifts and special events, ensuring we are compliant with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines related to fundraising relationships with prospective donors (i.e., individuals, corporate and foundations), across multiple sectors (locally, regionally, and nationally).

POSITION SUCCESS FACTORS:

  • Meet and/or exceed annual revenue objectives.
  • Successfully manage fundraising infrastructure and operations.
  • Develop and maintain high awareness of the organization resulting in an optimized and perpetual donor network (locally & nationally).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support & drive moves management and fund development reporting efforts by utilizing database management and other relevant applications
  • Deploy organization’s digital marketing strategy through various resources
  • Manage monthly appeals for public support

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue Operations

  • Manage and provide oversight of the constituent database, including maintaining records, creating and enforcing data policies and training staff.
  • Accurately enter all gifts into the donor database and generate error-free, timely donor acknowledgment letters.
  • Maintain fundraising metrics, key performance indicators and insightful dashboards that enable fair and equitable measurement of fundraising activities and goals.
  • Report regularly (weekly, monthly, annually) on all activities via database or Power BI and event tracking to identify outcomes and engagement.
  • Manage fund development policies and procedures (i.e., cash handling, GAP, donated goods).
  • Partner with Finance to ensure gifts are tracked/credited appropriately and balanced against general ledgers.
  • Coordinate/manage internal and external support resources, as needed.
  • Prospect research & development to generation qualified leads for revenue generating team members
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations or guidelines related to fundraising.

Donor Cultivation & Stewardship

  • Coordinate all donor mailings, including giving society, year-end, and special appeals.
  • Use the Moves Management framework to build/maintain a portfolio of current and potential donors including corporations, organizations foundations, and individuals.
  • Deploy donor pipeline strategies to support prospect development and ensure effective portfolio review and management; conduct prospect research as needed.
  • Spearhead stewardship and donor relations efforts (activities conducted after a gift is made to demonstrate impact and retain donors).
  • Major event coordination including but not limited to auction solicitation, organizing auction items, online auction platform coordination, guest organization and communication, venue and vendor coordination, program coordination before and after events, ISEs and tabling events
  • Provide site tours to guests visiting FFH buildings, as needed
  • Support grants management, reporting and writing, when needed. Grant writing responsibility is shared among staff depending on the program and policy area, and not the sole responsibility of this position.

Fund Development Marketing/Communications

  • Develop and manage comprehensive annual schedule of mailings, e-solicitations, e-blasts, digital fundraising campaigns, website maintenance and updates and other development database communications and inform strategy for target audience, criteria and parameters.
  • Collaborate with the communication team to create Fund Development collateral.
  • Establish printing timelines for mailings and manage deliverables with external print house.
