The Tooling Inventory Specialist, play a crucial role in ensuring that the tools required for our utility bucket trucks are appropriately barcoded, organized, and maintained. This role will be responsible for creating an efficient system to manage tool inventory, ensuring tools are readily available for deployment, and tracking. This role is vital in maintaining the integrity and readiness of our equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Barcoding: Assign unique barcodes to each item for accurate identification.
- Inventory Management: Maintain a detailed and organized inventory of all tools and equipment. Ensure tools are properly labeled, and their information is recorded in a centralized system.
- Condition Assessment: Regularly inspect tools to assess their condition and functionality. Identify damaged, worn, or missing items and report discrepancies.
- Organization: Establish a systematic layout for tool storage, ensuring easy access for tool preparation and maintenance.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of tools, including barcodes, descriptions, condition reports, repair history, and usage records.
- Tool Maintenance: Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to coordinate tool maintenance and repairs as needed. Ensure that tools are returned in good condition after use.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure seamless tool preparation and maintenance processes.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Previous experience in tooling or a related field preferred
- Proficiency in using barcoding systems and inventory management software
- Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills
- Basic knowledge of power industry tools preferred
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Physical ability to handle and move tools, including some heavy lifting.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Shop and/or warehouse experience preferred
