The Inventory / Barcoding Specialist, under the direction of the Plant Controller, audits and validates products that have been scanned into the barcode system. The position is responsible for validating that the product matches the barcode that has been scanned as well as ensuring that all items have been labeled with a barcode that has correct information.
Responsibilities:
– Conducts audits and validates the barcodes match the product that has been scanned.
– Drives continuous improvement through observation, measurement, and root cause analysis related to the barcoding process.
– Maintains barcode scanners and troubleshoots system issues.
– Participates in audits, gap assessments, and mitigation support.
– Performs other related duties, tasks, and projects as assigned by the direct supervisor.
– Able and willing to work overtime when required. Mandatory attendance in the year-end physical count.
Requirements:
Essential Skill and Experience
- 1+ year of experience with barcoding/scanning equipment and/or warehouse/inventory.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP.
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and problem-solve.
- Forklift Operator Experience.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and relationship-building skills to effectively work, with a variety of people and personalities; able to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization in person and in writing including training.
- Proficient software skills, in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge of Inventory and the full inventory flow process.
